Prepare for War! - On Saturday morning tune your radio to a.m. 533 for updated advisories on parking availablity in downtown Charleston. Republic Parking, which operates the garages and the City Police Department are working together to direct you to those garages with available space. Help us keep the streets moving so everyone can get parked and to the waterfront in time. Extra DASH shuttle buses have been added to the routes running the battle area to speed you to the waterfront. Parking lot attendents and DASH drivers have been briefed and are ready to direct you to the best viewing at Waterfront Park, the Civil War Camp at the Hazel Parker Athletic Fields and High Battery. Bring your binoculars and a portable radio to hear the live WTMA a.m. 1250 battle broadcast. |

Admission to the camp is $5 per family or #2.50 per single adult. Proceeds benefit renovation of Charleston's historic market hall. |

Siege of Charleston relics on display at 34 Pitt St. tempoary home of the Charleston United Daughters of the Confederacy Museum. Relics include uniforms worn during the seige, weapons, artillery projectiles, personal effects of soldiers and a number of flags including the stainless banner shot down and raised under fire at Ft. Sumter. Funds raised by War at Flood Tide '98 will be donated to the City of Charleston to benefit renovation of Market Hall, once and future home of the museum. |
